BEACON by the numbers

It's astonishing how useful the BEACON letters are.
Yes! In case it's helpful, here is another way to look at it:
There are four basic movements:
1) On the far side
2) To or within the outer board
3) From outer to inner board
4) Within the inner boardAll possible ways to combine two different movements (half and half) give you the following letters (that stand for Both, Cross, Each, Outer, Near and Attack):
12 = B
13 = C
14 = E
23 = O
24 = N
34 = ABtw, combining two (or four) of the same movements gives you the following letters (that stand for Run, Down, Jump and Inside):
11 = R (or U/V)
22 = D
33 = J
44 = IYou can remember the first six letters with the word BEACON, and the last four with the British word JIRD (rhymes with word).
