In this position, the golden point is not a president. If you stay there, you will get only indirect shots, if things are going as usual. And you will get almost never a double shot.
Making the bar, puts the backgame into the outfield and the opponents midpoint under pressure. If he can't clear it with a double, there is a direct shot, with a little luck even a double shot. Now we have time to hold the barpoint and a decent board. Last but not least, making the bar will prevent, that the enemy will make the bar, getting some concret in his lousy position.
I think any move without making the bar will be an error. The ace i would play 6/5. If an ace in the opening is a good number to develop the 6 point, then also here.
