rules/ethics question: consciously playing your best

In Response To: rules/ethics question: consciously playing your best (Chuck Bower)

I have occasionally faced situations where I did not want to accept the gift. When this happens, I say "don't do that" while my opponent is making the boneheaded play. I don't tell them what is wrong. If they figure it out and correct the play - good. If they don't and pick up their dice, I hit. This feels right to me. It is a "reverse distraction" technique. I am trying to remove their distraction. But, they have to figure out not to leave the shot by themselves.
