I think in a tournament setting all participants are obligated to play to the best of their abilities. Certainly we all suffer oversights and make the occasional boneheaded miscue -- but those are not made by design. To respond with premeditated 'poor' play is, in my estimation, an egregiously poor act of ethics and sportsmanship. In any competitive endeavor, I would much rather lose than have someone give me something.
