We agree of course that there are many other factors in a match other than how low your PR was and that some players, even Giants, don't put enough effort in to figuring out what they should be doing against (significantly) weaker players. If you you showed all the Giants a simple holding game that every one of them would know every day of the week was a clear take and then told them they were playing someone 5 PR worse than them on average (~170 elo) none of them in OtB play would actually change their decision and of course they should. If you presented it to them as a question of course I'd hope they would come up with the 'theoretical' answer but few apply it as they should, including Ray.

All I called bullshit on was your one line, "yet he wins more than any of the others", and I hope you agree now with even the minimal amount of data we have to go on it's false. The only major changes in your game should come from cube decisions, checker play there will be spots where you can afford to make small errors but nothing that will significantly affect your PR. Ray throws, in my opinion, too many hail marys. If you toss enough of them out there you're going to get some good stories at the end of the day and Ray plays good enough that he's still going to be a winner but to put him in what sounded to me like an elite club was over the top.
