The cube is the cube, coz there is a cuboid bone in the feet of sheep, and ours, which has been used for gambling for millenniums. It is still played in Iran and Afghanistan. Local name is Bojol in Persian. The cuboid bone is called Ka-ab in Arabic. The word Kaaba is derived from it. I don't believe Plato, was much of an gambler. :)
