Research on the Rules

In sports, in games, in life there are such circumstances all the time -- just the way it is.
Do they delay the completion of the Wimbledon Final for two months if one of the participants turns an ankle?
Pitchers have good and bad days. Do we replay the World Series because Cliff Lee had a bad day?
Jeez, the Patriots would have won if Brady hadn't made that ill-advised pass for an interception -- maybe we should have a 'do-over'.
Mickelson, in the last round of the U.S. Open, knew he couldn't clear that lake with an eight iron but he grabbed the wrong club. We should let him do it again with a seven iron.
Everybody know the 2009 NCAA BCS Championship game between Alabama and Texas would have been awesome, if only Colt McCoy hadn't gotten hurt on the first series. Maybe we should've delayed the game for 2-3 weeks till both teams were back to full strength.
Things happen. People make mistakes. Some days we're sharper -- physically, mentally, emotionally -- than other days. Life isn't always fair. So be it.
