It's interesting how key the 8 point is here, more checkers there is a blunder and 8/5 is a must, I guess because clearing that last will suck checkers off the 5 and 6 points onto the ace point. 6/1 wasn't on my radar but I can only see it coming out ahead for the immediate extra blocking potential of the checkers on the 7 and 9 point that opponent wants to play next.
