It's not just a mental thing.

His swing is crap and has been for some time now. He hits way too many wayward drives which puts extreme pressure on the rest of his game.

At Augusta he was able to contend due to the wide fairways and lack of rough.

At the US Open (next major) wayward drives will be punished much more severely.
