Tournament Cube Action - Take or Drop?

I don't see it in the current US Rules but in some rules I've read in the past there was a provision for 'claiming' a game if the outcome was certain -- 'claiming' so that the game did not have to be played to a conclusion.
In this instance, I would call the director for a ruling. I suspect many directors would rule the game was concluded prior to the offering of the cube.
If the director ruled I had to take or drop, then obviously I take.
If the director ruled I had the discretion to claim the game at three points or take the cube for six points, thereby winning the match, I think my decision would depend on my history with the player, the behavior and demeanor of the player, my evaluation of the intent of the player, etc. If the guy made a stupid, emotional blunder which he regretted, I would claim the game for three points. If the guy was just steaming, and continued to steam, unrepentently, I might just take it and be rid of him.
