Changing GNUbg rollout ply during rollout

I wouldn't do that, even if gnubg allows it.
You would be mixing two different play settings, so the first part of the trials would not reflect 2-ply's ability.
If you have rolled out plays at 0-ply, and then want to use 2-ply, you should re-evaluate the plays of interest(any ply will do) to clear the 0-ply rollout results, then run the 2-ply rollout on the selected plays.
0-ply rollout data for plays not included in the 2-ply rollout will be retained, but the 0-ply results for the plays you are re-rolling will be lost. For this reason, I recommend saving your original results before starting this procedure.
