Winner of The 1st Golden Gate Open

In Response To: Winner of The 1st Golden Gate Open (Chiva Tafazzoli)

I wanted to offer the final spot in the Giants Invitational to Ralf and was cautioned by some of my mentors that there might be some backlash as he is not on the 2009 Giants list due to inactivity previous years. Within the last year Ralf has resurfaced and this is his resume since December.

Winner - Super 32 in Las Angeles Victims - Roy Gandy, Gus Contos, Dorn Bishop, Steve Sax, Alfred Mamlet

Winner - Nordic Open Victims - Calusio Massimiliano, Nevzat Dogan, Christian Sørensen, Andreas Bünz, Robin Swaffield, Tage Mellgren, Christian Sørensen

Winner - Teamate of the World vs Denmark Victim - I might be wrong but I believe he only played in "Speed Matches" and the full team consultaion final. In the speed matches he won two out of three vs Morton Holm.

Winner - Golden Gate Backgammon Open Victims - I could not find out who he beat in the first 3 rounds before defeating David Levy in the semis & Neil Kazaross in the finals.

With a resume like that I am honored that he chose to accept my invitation to be part of the 1st Giants of Backgammon Invitational Tournament. I believe he is as worthy as anyone registered and don't foresee any reason why there would be any backlash. I look forward to seeing this "Giant" in less than two weeks at the Invitational and back on the Giants list early next year as he most certainly deserves to be!
