I find it incredible to qualify that many times for the Olympics.

The Netherlands had Bettine Vriesekoop, who in the early 80s would got to China to train against the best Chinese table tennis players. To its credit, China helped (early 80s still quite a tough time in China), and players like Saive, Waldner, Primorac etc. are really popular in China as well.
