I like 24/18 13/8 too, to attack White's blot, and I might even play this for money. Two down looks like the wrong idea; the checker on the 24pt isn't doing much and you might run out of time if you don't escape it now.

If 24/18 13/8 is correct here, then to test the theory that it's White's blot that makes the difference, one could try cleaning up White's blot and seeing if the top play changes.
