Daily Quiz 5/17

Here is what I have. Tell me the bot hates them:

1. 21/14, because making the 5 point is likely to be pretty easy later, but getting Frick and Frack out of White's board might be more difficult if you wait. White has quite a few good pointing and blocking rolls. Getting hit outside doesn't seem quite as scary.

2. 13/7*, similar enough to an opening roll response situation that I think the same play works for the same reasons. True you have an extra man back now, but you also have a point made. And anyway, if you're hit back on the bar point it will be hard to avoid making a decent anchor someplace and playing on from there.

3. I don't know what I'd do here. Pottle's Law says to hit and run the last back man, but my quick count says you leave 10,000 return shots. I think 24/18, 6/3 is interesting, and I hope you will discuss it. If I have to vote, I'm going to hit and run, but I'd rather cast a blank ballot on this one.

4. I wait, because if the gammons come thru you get to Crawford anyway, but if things start to slide, the cube will return like the proverbial bad penny from a gumball machine. He doesn't have to see much daylight to reship. Your made 2 point is not special, and he has that nice block up front that he should be able to maintain easily. Take if doubled.

5. 4/3*/2, 1/off(2). Trying for the G a bit, trying to avoid risk a bit. I also like having more checkers off in case of a later hit, but taking four off seems too hotdoggy.
