This isn't clear to me. If White points on the blot then she may have some "free" rolls to clear her difficult points. In general my feeling is that a 'guard' (blot behind an anchor) usually doesn't help much when there is no gap between the anchor and the guard, because the danger of getting attacked offsets the extra shots.
