1. It looks to me like White may get a double anchor game, even if Blue wins the fight for the 4-point. But how good would any of those backgames be? I say shaky. The stripped midpoint is going to hurt White, who seems to lack timing for a viable backgame. He will be behind a broken 4-prime already, and in constant danger of crashing. Blue only has 8 checkers in the immediate vicinity. White may well make the 4-point himself, in which case his prospects will be a lot better. I see him with good chances to circulate checkers from there, though the timing is still suspect. So I suppose I take as White. From Blue’s perspective, even if things go real bad real fast, we won’t be seeing a recube for a long long time. So what the heck, let’s send it. Double/take.
2. Keith count.
Blue: (38 + 6ace+1duece+1three+1gap) = 47 + (1/7 *47) = 53 White. 49+1duece = 50. Double / comfortable Take.
Trice w/ Ward adjustments. Blue = 38 + 4 ace +2 one less checker off= 44. White = 49 . Last Take = (44 – 5) / 7 = 5. Double / razor thin Take.
3. I don’t know what the money play is, so I can't use that knowledge to help here. How about DMP? I see 4 plays.
Up in the race at DMP, I suppose 24/16 must be considered. Even if missed, I am nowhere near a win, there is tons of work to do yet, so I ain’t running. On the other hand, running is our best gameplan so who knows?
24/21, 13/8. Looks interesting. This Balances our builders while preparing to launch our back man. Pausing in the attack zone is usually wrong, but perhaps when gammons don’t matter the play becomes more attractive.
13/8, 13/10 looks sexy. Unstacking the midpoint is obviously desirable, and flexes out for the future, but it does leave 5 jokers to hit you, in which case you will stand worse.
Finally 8/3, 6/3 is an obvious candidate. Simply making a point can’t be too bad can it? Our position looks ugly, all stretched out and stacked up at the same time, but it does make a point and leaves no immediate blots.
Time to throw up my hands and admit I have no clue. Decision time. I’ll go with the building play, 13/8, 13/10
4. We haven’t accomplished anything yet this game. I will take the anchor and go from there. Bar/20, 24/20.
5. After a wimpy play like 4/1 it seems we are only a small favorite. When in doubt, I tap that ass. Let’s put the pressure on the baby to roll something good, else he’s getting the business end of this cube. 13/12*, 6/4.
