Actually, 4/1 kills a checker, so before killing a checker I would try hard to find something else.

The first alternatives I notice are 8/5* (that slots a vital point) and 14/11 (that duplicates 6s).

But it's gammon-save, so I play 4/1. If it's a mistake, at least I have done the same mistake as a Giant :-)
