Cannot understand XG's opinion

My autopilot plays 8/4 3/2 but thinking a bit more about it I see that White can't close Blue out, so it's time to start a blot-hitting contest.

After 20/16, the alternatives are 16/15, 8/7 and 3/2.
16/15 reduces contact and removes the duplication of 4s.
3/2 does substantially nothing except for wasting a pip.
8/7 gives Blue 10 more rolls next time to close the board completely.

Therefore 20/16 8/7.
