1) Blue needs to preserve timing and mobility while building his board. Entering on the 21 and making the 5 point does this nicely. Blue gets good timing and white will have 2 or 3 rolls to leave a shot. bar/21 6/5

2) I fail to see the value of placing a 5th checker on the ace point. I'll hop in on the 21 and then slot the 5 - we want to make that point next, right? bar/21 6/5

3) If we don't hit, will we get another chance? Maybe making the 5 point is best, but I'm gonna hit. Then slot the 5 point - maybe we can force him to enter and hit and we get a double shot at the blot... 24/23 6/5

4)I think blue has to hit here. Sending a third checker back gives a bit of racing chance, although I'm not sure how we're going to contain anything with white owning the anchor. Maybe hitting isn't correct...interesting position. I'll hit anyway 23/20* and then spread 'em around to maximize containment with 21/17. 23/20* 21/17

5) OTB, I doubt I'd even bother to pause to think about cubing here. Need to break that habit.... White has 7 checkers off already, so it sure seems like a clear take. I'm gonna say ND/T but I'm really at sea in this position.
