I hadn't read Sam's post first; he made an additional point that didn't occur to me. Say you're 80% sure Opp will drop after 64P-F-C (and somehow you're also 100% sure Opp will take appropriately after 64D-xxx-C). You still have to factor in a significant loss from the 64P-enter variations, having stuck your neck out already by having made a big blunder.
