Too bad it's Crawford, otherwise you wouldn't have to face this decision. (c:

6/3 4/off wastes one pip now, but 6/1 3/off will waste more pips in the long run due to the 5 checkers piled on the ace.

I'll play 6/3 4/off, but I doubt there's much difference between the two.
