1. The "safe" play of 13/10 11/10 is not completely safe here because White may attack in her home board. I make the 5pt with 8/5 6/5, providing indirect protection for both blots. Breaking anchor to hit us is usually no bargain for White.

2. It's basically DMP. 20/13 is tempting since we have a stronger board and we're running out of flexibility in a close race. On the other hand, it does give White some attacking rolls, and we'd rather not be on the bar when White has those juicy blots lying around. In a holding game we usually don't want to volunteer shots. However, what's the alternative? 8/1? That doesn't seem any better. 20/13 for me.

3. The straightforward 16/12 14/12 8/6 looks like the right idea with our race lead. The 7-away point shouldn't be too hard to clear. 14/6 is possible with the idea of preparing to hit White when she tries to run her spare, but I think this just makes it hard to scramble our last checker around safely, for too little gain.

4. With 16 misses the take is clear. The double is less obvious but this is close to a last-roll position so I'd double.

5. Making the 5pt seems to leave us too inflexible; I think we need to use some of those pips to advance our rear checker. So it's either 22/14 13/9(2) or 22/6. I don't think 22/14 13/9(2) does enough for our position to warrant leaving the outfield blot. I play 22/6. The score is lopsided but I don't think it affects my choice of play.
