1) 13/11 6/5 seems obvious, so QF tells me it must be wrong. So what else is there? The loose hit has some logic - white is ahead in the race but has tow checkers burried on the ace so maintaining contact is paramount. OTOH, with only nine checkers in the zone blitzing is unlikely to work. I'll go with the obvious play, but won't be surprised if the loose hit is correct. 13/11 6/5

2)Here I'll hit loose. 37 pips behind in the race, white has a poor board, a blot in her homeboard and we have three checkers back. Seems like the safe vs bold criteria are pointing to bold. bar/21 8/5

3)White can still win this going forward, and the guard gives plenty of potential shots so the take seems obvious. Can blue double? Not sure if it's good enough yet, but I don't see many market losers so I'll take another shake. ND/T

4)The 6 is forced. Where to play the 3? We're ahead in the race, so dumping a checker behind the anchor can't be too bad. The ace is the next point for us to make, and what else are we going to d with the spares on the 4? I think we want to hold the 19 fro a bit, so bar/16 is out. And 16/13 leaves too many shots given his four point board. bar/19 4/1

5)Blue has 12 checkers in the zone and will soon have 13 while white is still stuck on the ace point and has no board to speak of. If white sits on the ace point, it's basically game over, and if she splits she's running into a chainsaw. Normally, I don't double holding games, but this is different - for one thing, white will probably crack before blue despite blue's lead in the race.

Then there's the match score - at 4 away doubled gammons are especially tasty, and since there are gammons afoot, ship it. For the same reason, I'll pass here as white. At other scores I might take this (blue has no board!), but since the only plausible path to winning is fraught with gammon risks I say pass. D/P
