MCG "I thought that the whole reason that EMG was invented in the first place was because MWC ER was perceived as the "wrong" way to measure which player played better."

I agree. The problem with MWC ER is that errors at the end of the match cost lots more than errors earlier in the match. I suspose it is a matter of opinion, but I strongly prefer EMG based PR.
