1. This is clear, make the 5 point and hope to hit a shot.

2. Gammons lost do not matter, gammons won do not gain us much. We have a stronger board, and white has a blot on the 3. We are also a bit ahead in the race, so we have some incentive to break from the anchor. We also like slotting the 6. If gammon wins would have value I'd play 20/15 8/6, but here I play 20/13 without much certainty.

3. 16/12 14/12 8/6. No immediate shots, placing a checker on the 6 is good, and it is not clear to me that any of the other plays would obviously leave less shots in the future.

4. Double and take. If you miss, it goes redouble pass I guess, but that double out is not very efficient.

5. 13/5(2). Making the 4-point board requires White to tighten up especially at the score.
