Blue has played the deuce (24/22) and now has just a 5 to play.

The question is whether the strategical value of 13/8 outweighs the defensively tactical value of 6/1*. I think not.

Because it avoids the big strategical drawback of blotting the 1pt, 13/8 (relatively) gains solidly on the "boring" numbers of 43, 54 and 63 (and some on 52). However (compared to 6/1*), 13/8 gets crushed on 66 62 31 51 42 and 61 (and some on 53 33 and 44). It is very expensive for Blue when White points on her 5pt or 4pt, additionally so when he fails to secure the other anchor.
