I hit here, because there or no viable alternatives. Abandon the anchor? Bury a checker on the two point? While behind in the race?

But to cast it into Magriel's safe vs bold criteria, Blue is behind in the race and has two checkers back while white has no checkers back - +2 for bold. White has the better Board - +1 for safe. That adds up to +1 for bold.

And, actually, this move is not that bold. I'm curious to see what the "close" other play is. It seems clear to me.
