1) These are the sorts of positions that should be automatic, but I still struggle with them. I think covering the blot on the 4 is better than making the golden point, and then 24/21 since I don't think I want to hit loose and leave a blot on the 8. Although 8/4 13/10 has it's allure. 24/21 8/4
2)With the anchor and guard, White will be in this for a while and won't get gammoned very often, so the take seems clear. Blue can probably afford to turn the cube here since he'll attack the guard if he can (look at those blots in Whites board) and a dance would be a market loser. But probably not much of an error to take another shake. D/T
3) Blue will probably have a lot of shakes to get his runner out of there before his board crunches. Meanwhile, if white enters, Blue can hit loose. I'd be feeling pretty good as Blue, so Double. As for the take, Stick says that mutual priming games are always takes, so I say take. If I'm wrong I'll expect a lecture explaining why this isn't a mutual priming game. D/T
4) Blue's ahead in the race, but his structure isn't that strong and he's outboarded. Seems like a pretty clear take. Most of blue's rolls play well, so he stands to improve, so I'll say double. D/T
5) I think I answered this already as a BQ. Safe play is indicated by white's better board. Bold play is indicated by blue being behind in the race and having an advanced anchor. Bold wins 2-1. Whack! bar/24 13/6*
