Daily Quiz 6/3

1) Although Blue has a four point board, he has four checkers burried, and little hope of containing White. White has lots of containment possibilities. I'll double here, and I think it's a gulp take for blue - the gaps is white's blockade and the race lead are enough to take. D/T
2) If Blue doesn't run now, he'll have to next turn, and probably with a poorer roll. With the big numbers he can run a checker past contact and hope White doesn't roll one of the 9 rolls that POH. 21/10
3) The hit seems obvious. Then play 13/11 with the deuce. I'm just not seeing anything else... 23/22* 13/11
4)Blue can play it safe with 6/1(3) 7/2, but if White shakes a 6 it's an even race. But if blue plays 7/2(3) 6/1 and white gets lucky white is still stuck behind a 5 prime. The ensuing blot on the ace may be a bit hard to cover or lift, but I think it's worth the risk. For one thing, it allows blue to start bearing off immediately. 7/2(3) 6/1
5) Holding game. White can equalize by throwing a 5. I don't tend to double holding games, and I see no reason to make an exception here. ND/T
