White's backgame looks good. Too damn good in fact! How many men is blue likely to bear off? How soon will white get her shot? One thing of probable certainty is white will build her board and have ample time to wait for the shot.

Should blue allow white to exercute her plan with non-interference?

Right now, white's position is tentative; she has wonderful timing but her frontal position is rigid and inflexible. Should blue pay now rather than later by attempting to exploit white's weaknesses. Blue is tactically perfect right now and if he can pick up the spare on white's 8-pt, it will make her task of making her 5-pt harder. Forcing white into a tactical exchange may mess her timing up!

The shortest route to victory road is not always the best course of action.
