When bearing in against a backgame it's not which point is hardest to clear so much as where do the checkers get sucked when trying to clear those points. If you make the bar point where do your sixes play? Sluuuuuuurp, to the ace point. What if you only have the bar point to clear, where do your fives also play? Sluuuuuuuuuurp from the six point to the ace point. Before you know it you turn around and have the most awkward bearoff possible because all your spares were vacuumed behind your opponent's anchors.
