I'm not sure I follow your reasoning. If I could calculate the position quantitatively then I would do that, but the trouble is that I don't have enough experience with this sort of position to come up with quantitative estimates. Given that lack of experience, I don't see how making up numbers based on gut feel is any better than judging the position itself based on gut feel.

For highly technical positions like bearoff cubes or race cubes, I agree that calculation is possible and necessary, but I don't see how this position falls into that category.
