Many of the BIOS's on the i7 Motherboard allow Hyper-threading to be turned off. An experiment to see how much faster would be to time an operation with Hyper-threading on using all cores (Maybe do a roll out in XG), then reboot change BIOS to turn hyper-threading off, rerun the same test.

I still use an older Non Hyper-threading 8 core system. It has been a work horse for several years now, so I can't perform this experiment myself.

The performance gain is all dependent on the applications you are running. I do not know what the numbers will look like for XG. If I did, I'd tell you. It may also be that Xavier has done such experiments already and may have the answer.
