"Splashes"?

How do you distinguish a "cut" from a fade and a slice (noting that both a fade and a slice is a cut shot)?

I don't consider using a spoon as a chipper especially creative. And furthermore it is definetely not something which was invented by Woods! I have seen many pros use that shot as far back as the early 90s, perhaps even in the late 80s.

I believe it was Lee Trevino who invented/popularized this shot (but would not bet my life on it).
