BTW: I'm not that grumpy on the game and it's development as I might sound like in this thread - I think I simply notice the change a little bit more than other people because I have just picked up the game from a 12 year break! A lot of stuff have changed in that period, so it's very evident to me. I think it's fun to play some of the shots now possible. The equipment and the balls are fantastic compared to my old sticks and stones, and it's fun to launch a 300 yard straight drive from a somewhat poorly executed swing! It's fun to be able to spin the ball from a juicy semi-rough lie at distance, making it stop on the green where as 20 years ago it would just fly-away like a shot with a "greased" club and don't really bite that much.

It's just the game evolving, but it can be difficult for the courses to keep up I guess.

BTW, needless to say: I was the last elite player in our club to give up persimmon... At the time I didn't thought I needed the extra distance from metal and I just loved my customized persimmons. Sadly they got stolen during my break, I really really miss them! Would have loved to bring them to the driving range for a little test-drive in this 480cc titanium age! Just for kicks.
