Christian, I have to correct myself in this regard.

I just saw Garcia hit a flier from the high cut about an hour ago. On the Danish broadcast the commentators discussed this. They said something along the line of "this is something we'll see again now, when the players are on the semirough, because of the new grooves".

So the grooves I was objecting to, that I feel was ruining the game, are already forbidden. I didn't know this, I don't know when it happened nor do I know if it's only for the pros or if it's a general thing.

It might also explain why you haven't seen or tried this yourself, since the clubs (grooves) were developed AND banned during your break :-)
