Even if you feel you have enough time, it matters if your opponent has 10 minutes more than you, as presumably he will make fewer mistakes with the benefit of more time. By this logic, it shouldn't matter to you if your opponent has an extra hour or two, as long as you have enough time for your own moves. For that matter, even though most of us play pretty comfortably at tournament time controls, I don't think that implies that we would turn down additional time if it were available.
