At the bottom of page 88 in the "other" Backgammon for Blood:

How often do gammons happen? Expert opinion is divided, but the figure is somewhere between 20 percent and 26 percent. This means that of all games played to a conclusion, which are not ended prematurely by a dropped double, between one in four and one in five end in a gammon for the winning side. That's quite a high percentage.
