Yours is completely different. White has already a decent position. As soon as he will enter, it's gettin' tougher. In the text position, White has nothing. The only way to get something going, is to get a second checker. A lone straggler, even hit, can scrambling home. But two of them?! And putting two men in, closing phantom gaps, is also good for the later bear off.

Looking from POV Pay now or later, what will you really gain, leaving the shots? This men have to come home. That is their sole business.
