My original response to Chivas' initiative of incorporating breaks into match time was tongue in cheek. I think actually it's maybe a good idea. It seems that in chess, for example, they won't have an adjournment unless you've been playing for five or six hours! The clock keeps running if you leave the table. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

The 2-12 pace is generally OK, but against a top player I wouldn't mind more. If you're going to give me an extra 10 minutes, I reckon I might be able to arrange my waterworks (minimising fluid intake, going to the loo between matches) to take advantage of this!
