1. Obviously we have the option of hitting, but let's first examine the non-hitting plays. I'd start with 22/20 15/13, and then I think I like 9/7(2) a bit better than 13/11(2). If we hit then I'm not sure what the best way is to play the remaining 2's; maybe 15/13 9/7(2)? Although we're ahead in the race and White has a three-point board, I'd rather hit to prevent White from using her full roll productively. 15/13 9/7(2) 6/4*, though I'm not at all sure about this one.
2. This seems like a pretty clear take because if Blue doesn't hit then White has a reasonable game. Is it a double? Possibly, because of White's weak board. Is the Jacoby rule relevant? After a hit and a dance, would Blue be TG without Jacoby? I don't think so, but White's weak board makes me wonder. I guess I double but without much confidence.
3. I think that normally it's better to bear just one checker in order to minimize shots, but here the extra indirect shots don't seem to be much of a threat given White's blotty board. I'll rip two. 5/1(2) 4/off(2).
4. A similar situation to #2 but I think Blue is worse off here because I think it's worse to be the one holding the bar point anchor. ND/T.
5. I think this should be an easy take since White has made her bar, Blue has only two home-board points with two home-board blots, and White has a checker tucked away safely on her 24pt. Still, Blue has 10 checkers in the zone and has split his back checkers so I would double. D/T.
