Henrik's tip - use cube rollouts in GNU, and look at view statistics afterwards. Scroll down, and it will tell you how often closeouts were achieved.

You can also truncate the rollout and see how that affects the number of closeouts; this gives an idea about how important the 'firepower' of additional attackers is in a given position.
