I played this out quite a few times. After 6/3* 6/2, to win the battle for the 22-anchor, you usually need to hit a few times, and then will get a few more checker sent back behind the 6-prime. You end up with a busted backgame that also loses a lot of gammons - or at least that is what I get so far.

6/3* 6/2 is good partly because of opponent's fragile position with misplaced spares.
