The 11 pt is an ideal place for checkers in this sort of position since they can usually be brought home safely and can be only hit from the roof by a 4-7 roll. If a lone checker is forced to remain on the 11 pt after White enters, it is only exposed to a 7 shot and still likely to find refuge on the 5 or 6 pt soon.

ie I am not paying a 43 shot here. As for whether to play 11/5 7/2 or 11/6 7/1 I think it slightly best to keep the spare on the 2 pt and to try to clear the 6 pt quickly as this seems a nearly 100% G when not hit.
