I'm with Jason. I've watched thousands upon thousands of baseball games -- live and on tv -- over fifty years and have never seen such an occurrence. Considering the speed of the thrown baseball, the bat head speed, and the instant of contact between the two it is almost inconceivable that such an event can occur.

Of course, I'm distinguishing the subject occurrence from the second hits on bunts and follow throughs (both bat wrap-arounds and bat retractions) after the ball has struck the ground and bounded back up into the zone. Those are comparatively commonplace.
