IIBGF Update June 2011

What a wonderful idea this IIBGF is? When I first got an email from Leonardo I did not pay attention to it. But later when I had nothing better to do, I went to IIBGF website, started to read it, and then quickly realized that it was at least worth trying to join it and play a tournament just to get some practice playing longer matches against strong players I would not otherwise had a chance to do. This project gives us a chance to see regularily matches of such players as Stick , Mochy, Falafel, Paul Weaver and other Giants. Just think about it: you get a chance to watch and record these matches for later analisys. You get a chance to follow a tornament of such a strenght that only Rory's invitational tournament can compete with. 300 people have joined it already? This is a great success! I've been following most of these tournaments and see a lot of very strong folks there who could just as easily be on the Giants list based on their level of play. What I also like about this project is that there is no pressure on how quickly one has to finish his matches. If you can play 1 match per week, you good to go. Everyone can play at his own pase. I believe IIBGF will grow. I urge everyone to join. You won't regret it. This project is good for internet backgammon and backgammon in general. Thank you very much and keep on a good work.
