I personally would like to know the details of your run in 2005.

Anecdote #1

A few months ago I went with a couple of friends of mine to see a band that a friend of theirs played in. After the show they kept going on about how good of a drummer he was. Finally I couldn't help it and asked "How would you know?"

Anecdote #2

Pete Rose, my all time favorite player and owner of many records including one of the 'never again to be broken records' of 4,256 career hits. How impressive is that? Taken alone as a statement to most people that's an awesome record, if you break it down it loses a lot of its pop as he batted .303 lifetime, had over 14,000 plate appearances in over 3,500 games. The old holder of the record, Ty Cobb, has ~4,191 hits, batted .367 lifetime in about 11,400 games and just over 3,000 games.

Anecdote #3

Secretariat's heart. While I may have been off on the car racing analogy I think the point was taken. I know nothing about any form of racing involving cars and tossed that out blindly.

Anecdote #4

Roger Federer. Is he that great or is it because it's happening in our time that he appears so?

I appreciate the best at what they do and think they should be fully recognized for their accomplishments but I like to know the background on these accomplishments and interpret their true meaning. It's easy to see how Ray has done this year in terms of tournaments attended, results, how many ABT points he could acquire in relation to attendance, etc... what is harder to see is Neil's 2005 year. Neil, do you happen to remember at least what tourneys you attended that year?

For those who are interested so far this year Ray has attended 11/12 ABT events skipping only the first one in New York. From the 2005 year there were 19 total ABT events of which I'm certain Neil attended at least 7 of them. (PGH, Lisle, Cleveland, Wisconsin, Florida, Illinois, and Minnesota)

All stats are subject to correction from someone who knows more than I do.
