I think Ray may be a lot better player than he was at this time last year. During the latter past of last year Ray wasn't playing in tournaments or much online, but I doubt he ignored the game.

Also, one year doesn't define greatness. Hack Wilson and Roger Maris each had a better year than Roberto Clemente ever had, but no one argues which among them is the greatest. I think Neil's status atop the charts of ABT greatness is not assailable for at least a year or two and probably for many more years after that.

Not to say Ray isn't great, but as we have seen, Jimmy Connors-level greatness is different from Roger Federer-level greatness.
