Is the 2 point that valuable here?

It is not clear to me what is right, but a prime against a high anchor in most cases does not have that much value. Avoiding killing a checker with 2/1 has value. White in principle wants to build a board, to have something to fight with in case of an exchange of hits. 7/5(2) creates spares and playability, and makes it easier to build a board.

7/5 6/5 2/1 has as main attraction that it does not leave a blot, useful while ahead in the race.
